Writer’s block is a struggle. There are already times when authors don’t really feel like putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard, and writer’s block is cannon fodder for those moments that usually have “screw it” and “I’m not doing” in the outburst.
Writer’s block is just one specific name for a point in someone’s life where they struggle to get past or just decide to give up. I don’t believe the perpetual “writer’s block” is a bad thing. We can learn from our struggles and see just what we are made of. Some are afraid to see or hesitant to try because not everyone is made of tough stuff. That’s okay. It’s step one to changing into someone you want to be. The hardest step is the first one, but make that move and good things are in your future.
Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better, but don’t delude yourself into thinking that it’s all easy-peasy. There will be obstacles, hurtles, and hills to climb. Sometimes you might want to turn back, but if you trudge your way through the muck and the mile, there’s a euphoric feeling of accomplishment not but a few paces away.
Life’s peculiar like that.
